Port Kembla Public School consists of ten home-bases, library, communal hall, canteen, two covered outdoor learning areas, administration, games court, playground equipment, outdoor seating, landscaped gardens and a permaculture garden.
The new buildings are designed to maximise comfort conditions for students and staff while minimising energy requirements. Strip skylights over major spaces maximise natural lighting while natural ventilation is encouraged by the design of the room layout and the provision of rotary roof vents.
Comprehensive communication cabling for voice, video and data is provided through the school to support the evolution of modern teaching practices. This permits comprehensive networking, internet and email access for staff and students.
Our facilities complement and support modern teaching practices. They allow for greater learning interaction by students thus stimulating and enhancing learning outcomes.
