Welcome to the WHS Special Education Unit
The staff and students hope you enjoy browsing through our information on educational offerings as well as samples of student work, facilities, excursions and success stories.
We are very fortunate at Warrawong High School to have a wonderful team of staff who provide a caring and supportive environment and offer the best education possible for our students.
In the Support Unit we teach students across the full range of subjects while providing individualised programs to help each student realise their full potential. School learning support officers help teachers in the implementation of programs in each classroom. Additional support is also provided through our Counselling Service and in addition we have access to professional specialists who provide ongoing support.
Students in our Unit have the best of both worlds as they have access to smaller class sizes and individual educational programs while still being part of the school population. This has many social and academic benefits. Students have access to mainstream elective subjects; school facilities such as the library, computer labs, cooking, textile, woodwork and music rooms, school playing fields and sporting equipment; school sport; assemblies and other school special ceremonies and celebrations.
We take great pride in seeing our students develop and mature into young adults much better equipped to be independent and successful members of society and in a number of cases go on to achieve success in their studies, work experience and future lives.
If you would like other information please contact the school by email or phone.
